Bauer's Vapor HyperLite 2 leg pads live up to their name with an ultra-light construction, built around a soft, streamlined profile to hug and flex with the goalie's every move.

Core Construction
Soft, Dynamic Flex Core w/ Pre-Curve: Prioritizing flexibility and comfort, Bauer's Vapor core profile features a deep, pre-curved S-shape with a dynamic flex that progressively softens up from the knee break.
CURV® Composite Reinforced Thigh Rise: High-strength, ultra-lightweight CURV® composites have been implemented to reinforce each thigh-rise, ensuring rigid 5-hole coverage and proper pad seal. Compared to commonly used impact-resistant materials such as ABS plastic, polycarbonate, and fiber glass composites, CURV® composite offers unmatched resistance to cracking, deforming, or splintering, at low temperatures.
Rebound Boost Core Padding: Bauer's Vapor core is built to fire pucks away from the crease, padded with springy Rebound Boost foams throughout the core.

Outer Construction
S.L.1.D.3.R. Skin: Introduced with the Supreme Mach leg pads, Bauer's S.L.1.D.3.R. skin is a one-piece thermoformed pad skin, designed for an ultra-lightweight balance between durability and pop.
Rebound Edge: Streamlined outer roll design with stiff padding to help maintain their soft s-curve and reduce skip-over.

Calf & Knee Support
Hybrid Calf Support System: The Hybrid Calf System featured on the HyperLite 2 pads meets the ice with a streamlined calf plate, backed by a small calf support pillow to fill negative space in the calves, stabilizing the pads' butterfly.
Single Bracket Calf Reinforcement: Internally, the HyperLite 2 pads' calf system is reinforced with a single bracket, better balancing flex and stability compared to the Supreme Mach pads' rigid double bracket reinforcement.
StabiliFlex Knee Block: The HyperLite 2 pads land on a directly integrated knee block, topped with Bauer's adaptive combination of synthetic suede and tactile rubbers, Stabili-Grip. Compared to the StabiliSlide knee block featured on Bauer's Supreme pads, the HyperLite 2's StabiliFlex knee block helps to keep the knee center while allowing a bit more flex between the knee and the pad's core.

Leg Channel & Boot
Streamlined Leg Channel: The HyperLite 2 pads are built to move with the goalie, hugging the legs with a flush leg channel profile. Improving mobility, these pads' leg channels are lined with nylon, lighter and more streamlined compared to the first-generation HyperLite pads.
110° Soft Flex Boot: Bauer's HyperLite 2 pads feature a flush boot with a softer flex and more narrow angle compared to the Supreme Mach pads. On the ice, the HyperLite 2 pads' 110° soft flex boot improves comfort and coverage options at the post with a greater range of motion in the ankles.

Fit & Adjustability
Tune Fit 2.0 Calf Strapping: The Vapor lineup's Tune Fit strapping secures the calves with a streamlined v-shaped strapping, adjustable at the top and bottom of the calves for a precision fit.
Centered Elastic Toe-Tie System: Elastic toe ties secure each boot with more give over traditional skate lace toe ties, offering improved edge control and greatly reducing lower body strain.

Measurement Guide

Using a measuring tape, start by measuring the distance from the outside of your ankle bone to the middle front of your knee cap, then take that number and double it for your base number, such as a measurement of 16" indicates 32 in 32+1. Next, the +1 is a standard measurement indicating the additional space above the knee and may vary for each company. If you are still unsure about sizing, the best thing to do is to size up using another pad as reference.
If you are looking for more in-depth advice on selecting hockey pads , please visit Every company has relatively the same sizing but may vary in small incriments due to the build of the pad per company. With changes to the construction and technology of leg pads to match the technique of a modern goaltender, using an older leg pad as reference to identify your size in the current style of leg pad might not be a completely accurate representation when purchasing new gear.
Bauer is the only company that measure their pads with a word such as "Large" instead of numbers. Please see the sizing chart with sizing equivalents to find the size you will need.
